Engaging Parents

This is a family programme involving three way learning, where Whanau Educators take parents and their children through real life problem solving strategies.

Through the Inquiry Learning Model and real life scenario the whanau plan a presentation about their child, which is presented by the child on the last evening.

It runs for seven weeks for 1.5 hours weekly in the evenings.

Key Learning

Parent(s) and child communicate openly, respectfully and frequently with child receiving praise for his or her accomplishments

Self Esteem – Child is comfortable with his or her own identity.
